Job Description

Position Summary

As identity and transaction risk fraud continues to grow in both scale and complexity, Visa is developing leading edge solutions to stay ahead of fraudsters and protect consumers and other key stakeholders in the payments ecosystem.   The North America 3DS 2.0 Program Lead is a Director level position that will drive the North America 3DS 2.0 program implementation strategy and ensure successful adoption of the protocol by our merchants, issuers and other key stakeholders.   The North America Program Lead will be the end-to-end “voice of the client” and will be responsible for assessing regional market trends, evaluating opportunities to improve adoption, collecting stakeholder feedback and working closely with the global 3DS2.0 product team to ensure achievement of key program milestones.   In addition, the Program Lead will be the internal evangelist to educate Visa’s client facing teams and regional product leads on the value and benefits of 3DS2.0.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of industry expertise regarding Visa’s Identity & Risk & Authentication Products, emerging fraud trends and risk management technologies within the payments industry, particularly as they impact 3DS2.0

  • Serve as primary point person and subject matter expert for 3DS 2.0 in North America to both clients and internal stakeholders.  Provide guidance to global product owner on issues that help to localize the commercialization of 3DS2.0 in North America (e.g., pricing, product features, sales enablement tools, competitor’s products, etc.)

  • Jointly architect and manage regional workplans and stakeholders in market (e.g., issuers, merchants, acquirers, processors as well as internal Visa groups impacted by 3DS 2.0 program) to ensure the program achieves key implementation milestones.  Play a critical role as part of the global migration to 3DS2.0 including coordinating and tracking of key program workstreams, establishing relevant performance measurements and other ad hoc project management as needed 

  • Provide product support to in market sales teams and help drive strong client engagement by developing training and region specific sales materials, conducting presentations with clients and holding training sessions.  Deliver product updates to senior Visa executives on program as needed.

  • Provide additional program support by working with other internal Visa teams.  Work may include:

    • Implement 3DS Updates to Visa’s Fraud Monitoring Programs

    • Client Certification Management

    • Implement changes to VCAS and ICAS (rule writing, new data fields)

    • 3DS Vendor and Third Party Support (ACS & MPI providers)

    • Pilot / Controlled Deployment Management

  • In partnership with Finance and global product owner, develop annual North America strategy and revenue targets to drive adoption of 3DS2.0; identify and prioritize appropriate clients and markets by conducting analysis on payment and transaction volumes

  • In conjunction with global product management teams, provide support on day-to-day product operations, including client contracts, billing, legal approval of materials and client-facing reports, and escalation point for new product implementations

  • Facilitate the sharing of important and relevant business and client information that results in improved decision making and superior execution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, advanced or technical degree preferred.  Experience in financial services or payments with an emphasis on emerging technologies helpful

  • 8+ years of experience working in product management or technology consulting, experience and knowledge of payments is a strong plus

  • Strategic thinking skills – ability to anticipate future fraud trends and changes in the broader payments environment, and apply them to Risk & Authentication products

  • Proven success in consultative selling and collaborative sales techniques

  • Strong commercial acumen –  understands the economics of client’s business and how risk management products can impact a client’s P&L as well as the commercial drivers of Visa’s business

  • High energy, motivated team player.  Able to effectively lead across cross-functional teams to drive projects and key initiatives to completion.  Comfortable working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders without formal authority

  • Exceptional communicator – effective in interacting and building relationships across all levels of Visa and client organizations; able to adapt communication strategies to the needs of their audience (e.g., simplifying complex technical messages)

  • Ability to negotiate/influence a wide variety of stakeholders by finding compromises and win/win scenarios

  • Strong problem solving skills – able to analytically break down problems into solutions

  • Executive presence – able to build effective relationships with key executives.

  • Presentation skills – conduct training and other presentations to large audiences – both internal and external
