We’re seeking a Senior Tax Specialist, based in our Denver, Colorado office (global headquarters). In this role, you will prepare, analyze and maintain tax records and reports. Prepare local, state and federal tax returns as well as statistical and financial reports, and complete miscellaneous tax studies and assignments.

- Prepare federal and state income tax returns including quarterly state estimates and state extensions
- Prepare the state components of the tax provision and US regulatory filings
- Assist with state tax modeling projects including, but not limited to, NOL utilization, state tax credits, and state income modifications in order to determine filing positions and state income tax deduction for financial statement purposes
- Maintain state tax matrices as they relate to individual state rules with an emphasis on the international provisions of tax reform
- Assist with state audits
- Assist in evaluating domestic uncertain tax positions for financial statement reporting
- Assist and partner with multiple business personnel to proactively identify and research tax planning opportunities
- Assist in responding to state inquiries and notices to successfully defend filing positions and strategies
- Develop, recommend, and implement new processes and procedures
What you will need to succeed:
- Minimum of 4 years with a large public accounting firm and/or tax compliance in a large corporate environment
- Multistate income tax compliance experience with corporations required
- Able to do technical research and interpret and apply income tax regulations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred, but not required. (links, arrays, large data manipulation)
- Must be proactive, responsive and resourceful
- Highly flexible and motivated with an ability to work independently and after-hours at certain times of the year
- Able to multi-task and deliver results under firm deadlines

- Experience using Corptax, Oracle, and HFM is a plus but not required
