Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Center Group (DCG) as a Technical Lead – HPC Fabric Software Performance!
The Intel Fabric Software development team is looking for a Technical Leader for HPC Fabric Software Performance to work in our design center to facilitate the delivery of the next generation Intel Fabric products for High Performance Computing HPC. HPC is being used today to help solve some of the world's most challenging scientific needs, including fusion energy, bio-medical research, physics, as well as traditional engineering such as aeronautical and automotive engineering. The work will be focused around performance analysis, improvement, tuning, performance related software development, benchmarking, and performance modeling and enabling novel performance features in current and new Omni-Path Architecture products in development. The work will include optimizing, running and reporting on industry standard benchmarks such as Intel MPI Benchmarks, OSU Micro Benchmarks, SPEC MPI, HPC Challenge and Linpack. This is a senior technical leadership position in our Omni-Path Software Team.
In this role, you will work closely with hardware and software architects and engineers and lead key performance projects to:
- Develop performance models of products under development to estimate future performance.
- Collaborate with ISVs and other software developers to qualify and obtain optimal performance of their software products on Intel host interconnect products.
- Collaborate with Intel bench-markers and systems/sales engineers and customers to obtain excellent performance for their applications, and to analyze performance issues where they exist. Being able to analyze performance to find bottlenecks and suggest improvements to end users or Intel tool/library developers is very important.
- Port and tune performance of customer codes and benchmarks.
- Write papers, presentations and other reports to enable Intel marketing and sales to effectively communicate the performance advantages of Intel products.
- May serve on benchmark or software standards committees to influence the benchmarks to be a fair test for Intel fabric products.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 9 years of industry work experience, Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 6 years of industry work experience, or PhD in in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 4 years of industry work experience.
- 6 plus years of experience with Performance engineering, HPC applications area, or parallel computing using MPI, PGAS, OpenMP or pthreads.
- 4 plus years of experience with performance modelling of new products and architectures.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 plus years of experience in C, C++, or Fortran coding and software development.
- 4 plus years of experience using performance analysis tools such as profilers, MPI or thread analyzers.
- 3 plus years of experience with scripting languages such as shell, Python, Perl, etc.
- 3 plus years of experience in HPC applications development and optimization.
- 3 plus years of experience with file system software including Lustre, NFS, etc. commonly used in HPC.
- 3 plus years of experience with device driver, Linux kernel, networking software, and messaging library performance improvement.
- 3 plus years of experience with large scale systems and their configuration and fabric topology.
- 3 plus years of experience and knowledge of cutting edge technologies in server interconnect industry.
- 3 plus years of experience making presentations and communicating performance topics to engineering and management.
