Platform enables credit unions to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in an ongoing manner, driving funds for the cause through local community engagement
PURCHASE, NY and SALT LAKE CITY, UT – February 22, 2016– MasterCard today announced a partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to deliver an enhanced online donation platform for credit unions. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been the charitable cause of choice for credit unions for the past two decades as it allows them to drive local community engagement and much-needed funds for local hospitals. Through this donation platform MasterCard is making it even easier for credit unions to drive fundraising initiatives amongst their members in an ongoing manner.
This enhanced online donation mechanism is part of an “Integrated Giving” platform that will allow credit unions to integrate donation mechanisms onto their credit and debit offerings. Through this partnership, MasterCard continues to demonstrate its support of the local communities where member credit unions operate.
“Our partnership with MasterCard is a great example of how creative non-profit partnerships can drive much-needed funds for local hospitals,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Thanks to MasterCard’s technical know-how and the generosity of credit union members, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals will be able to continue providing advanced care for kids in their communities – and that is truly Priceless.”
“Credit Unions are a centerpiece of local communities and we wanted to build a platform that made it even easier for them to support a cause that was meaningful to them, as well as their members,” said John Ainsworth, group executive, Independent Banks & Credit Unions, MasterCard. Members highly regard their relationship with their credit union due to the high level of community engagement their institution demonstrates. Programs such as this only strengthen the bond between the credit union, its members and the community.”
“It’s a great pleasure to see an organization like MasterCard continue to further their commitment to the credit union segment by providing the tools, resources and platforms that will help them thrive” said Stan Hollen, president and CEO, CO-OP Financial Services and Board of Governors, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “With time and resources a scarce commodity, enabling credit unions to deliver an engaging member platform in a turnkey manner that ties to a local cause is truly invaluable.”
Through the platform, credit unions will be able to offer donations through their online banking sites so customers can donate to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals without having to leave their site. All donations will be tracked and credited to both the credit union and the consumer, offering new opportunities for consumers and credit unions to work together and have a meaningful, measurable impact within their local community. Credit unions can also grow member loyalty throughout the year through additional marketing programs, such as offering to match or multiply member donations to Children’s Miracle Network.
